Making A Quilt
Lord help me as I cut and sew
Pretty pieces row by row.
Made by pattern dark and light,
Placing carefully pale and bright.
Scissors and needles, with a tilt,
Working carefully to design a quilt.
Colors red and white and amber hue,
Brown and yellow and even blue.
Pink and black, with orange aglow,
In setting of green, to make it show.
Working patiently day by day,
Till it's all finished and sent away
To make someone warm, upon the bed,
Tucked at the foot, and snuggled close around the head.
Sleeping cozily all night long
While dreaming of a lullaby song.
