A Day in December
Clouds that are rosy tinted and grey
Tells us the sunrise is on the way.
Month of December, trees that are bare,
Extend leafless limbs high in the air.
Breezes gently blowing, clouds drift by,
Showing patches of the bright blue sky.
Birds twitter in the evergreen tree,
Seeking shelter from rain and storms that be.
Cold days and colder nights,
More hours of dark and less of daylight,
Make you search for warmth
By the glowing firelight.
Makes you sleep longer,
In a warm cozy bed.
Covers tucked about the feet,
And snuggled close about the head.
Thank God for winter with it's chilling breeze.
Thank God for the evergreen and the beauty they show
That tell us there is still life, even in the snow.
