Buttermilk Pancakes
Makes 4 to 5 Large Pancakes or 8 to 10 Small Pancakes
| 1 cup |
All-purpose flour |
| 1 Tbsp |
Sugar |
| 1 tsp |
Baking powder |
| 1/2 tsp |
Baking soda |
| 1/4 tsp |
Salt |
| 1 |
Egg, beaten |
| 1 cup |
Buttermilk, or 4 tablespoons Saco Cultured Buttermilk with 3/4 cup water |
| 1 tsp |
Vanilla |
| 2 Tbsp |
Oil (or melted butter) |
Sift dry ingredients together in a mixing bowl. Add egg, buttermilk, vanilla, and oil. Beat with a wire whisk until
batter is smooth. Spoon mixture onto a griddle. When bubbles cover the top of the pancake, flip it over.
Cook until underside is golden brown.
