Buttermilk Biscuits

Makes 12 to 15 Biscuits

2 cups Flour
1 Tbsp Baking powder
1 tsp Salt
2 tsp Sugar
1/3 cup Butter (or Shortening)
1 cup Buttermilk, or 4 tablespoons Saco Cultured Buttermilk with 2/3 cup water

Preheat oven to 450º.

Sift the dry ingredients together into a mixing bowl. Cut in butter until the mixture looks like small crumbs. Add the buttermilk and stir until dough forms a ball. Place ball on a floured surface and flatten to 1/2 inch. Cut out biscuits and place 1/4 inch apart on cookie sheet. Bake until golden brown (8-10 minutes).
